When my husband was taken to hospital and moved to ICU, I was overwhelmed with information I didn’t really understand and definitely couldn’t share clearly with my adult children. Sheila helped me understand the medical information without being rushed, and she helped me share it with my children in a way that was clear to them. With Sheila’s help, we were able to make better decisions for my husband. Sheila’s kindness throughout the ordeal was greatly appreciated.
Sheila offers excellent support on how to communicate with health care providers as well as other family members. She focuses on the patient and what is the most favourable treatment plan for them. Sheila always presents facts realistically and educates the family on the patient’s medical condition, looking at the options in a way that keeps the family focused when making difficult medical decisions. It is a pleasure to work with Sheila. She is compassionate and empathetic to the needs of the patient, each family member, and the health providers involved with the patient. Taking time out of her busy schedule to allow for regular visits to bond and connect with the patient is so comforting and supportive for family members.
Sheila helped our family tremendously when my mother was first diagnosed with AL Amyloidisis in 2012. My father and I had to step up and run the family business, so we had Sheila come and spend Monday-Friday with my sick mother, taking her to doctors’ appointments, to grocery shopping, to picking up her meds and just being an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on. Highly recommend her to help you and your family through life’s obstacles.
I have contracted Sheila to work on a number of writing/editing projects. The projects have been diverse in terms of content and approach. Sheila is an excellent editor — she pays attention to detail, understands a variety of complex topics and focuses on clear writing. She is also very flexible. Finally, it is a pleasure to work with Sheila — she is personable along with being very professional. I highly recommend Sheila!
